White Oaks, planted in rich soil, develop first what’s called a tap root. A tap root is the main anchoring root, growing vertically into the soil before developing and sending horizontal roots. Not all trees are capable of devolving a tap root.
Many tap root systems grow twice the length into the soil as the sapling that is above ground this sustaining the strength of the tree not only in storms, but also helping seek out moisture in droughts.
The ancorn has every element needed to be an oak tree. The only variables are the soil and water.
The same with you, my friend. You’re made in the image of God. Every element needed to walk that life is available to you. The only variables needed are a humble heart and the tree of life from which flows living waters.
You do not need to get anywhere or be anything to start or to change courses, you simply need to allow a tap root to grow to your creator. Be an acorn.
Only God knows who needs sit under the sturdy presence of your relationship with him so they to may have a chance to grow.
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. John 12:24
Death to ourself is the greatest invitation we will ever receive. There are so many variables on the other side of our own cross, but God has never once been anything other than exceptionally good. The adventure of a lifetime is only found in letting go and being planted in the rich soil of Jesus Christ and the Bible. It is only trough him may our lives produce a lasting crop, extending far beyond what our own efforts could produce.
