Life is hard

We work hard, laugh hard, love hard.

  1. Work Hard

All good things require sacrifice, not just our salvation.  Work however is part of our creation.  We don’t toil, but we are willing to set an example of discipline and hard work.

Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.  Proverbs 20:4

  1. Laugh Hard

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.  Proverbs 7:22.   Laughter is divine medicine and a gift from the Lord.  We look for moments to play like children, find humor in the mundane, and receive laughter as a healing agent.

  1. Love Hard

The Bible says that we love because God first loved us. (1 John 4:19) but it’s important to remember that we are love.  We are designed to express love for God in all we do and we walk in faith believing in the life giving results when we follow the ways of self sacrificial love.

  1. We choose our hard.

Whether a decision honors God or satisfies our flesh, we realize it’s hard.  Obedience is hard at the beginning, the results of waywardness are hard later.  A life led by our own reasoning, our feelings or fears lead to oppression and anxiety.  It’s a life apart from God and feels like death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23

  1. Lazzaroni’s do what’s right when no one is looking.

“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”  Luke 8:17

Jesus reveals the natural order of justice and truth.  What we do when no one is watching will be revealed when we don’t have time to think about our reaction to life’s events.

  1. Lazzaronis don’t have people, we are the people.

Pride comes before a fall (Proverbs 16:18) and thus we don’t negate the necessity of relationships, but we are trailblazers.  We are the ones who are willing to go first, to be bold, to take a risk and see mistakes as the best teachers.  We don’t have people to do for us, we are the ones who will do the work first and invite others on the journey.

  1. Lazzaroni’s don’t sit on fences.

It’s often referenced that the fence belongs to the evil ones.  We believe all decisions either produce life or produce death.  There’s no in between, there’s no fence.  We do the work to consider our motives for everything we do and say.  Apathy is where the fence runs, but we choose the green pastures and still waters of abundant life as we seek to produce life in all we do.
